Baking 101:CONGO BARS!!
Assalamulaikum,lovelies..
So how was your baking day?Siapa yang almost everyday baking?Mar tabik ah kat korang.My baking day was worst!Ada lah hari yang menjadi dan ada hari yang tak menjadi.I don't know why i still can't bake a perfect piece of brownies.I hate that fact about me.I mean resepi die takde lah susah mana kan..Errgh.Anyway hari ni mar bukan nak share about brownies.It is congo bars guys!! I know kat Malaysia itu lah dessert yang suatu ketika popular.Tak tau sekarang macam mana.
Oooh..ooh..oohh..I have fun fact untuk korang, CONGO BAR = BLONDIES = BROWNIES. Well mesti ramai tengah gelakkan mar, I know saya teramatlah lembab.Actually mar keliru mula2 sebab kalau mar cari resepi blondies keluar yang blondies sahaja tapi kalau congo bar keluar congo bar sahaja but if mar compare the recipe practically it is the same thing.
Okay recipe ni mar buat dua kali and it turn out to be cakey.First attempt it turns out to more cakey, i mean the taste memang macam butter cake.Second attempt jadi macam congo bars sort of not really sure.Masa first time buat tu overbeat, mana tak over beat kalau pakai mixer.So jangan gatal tangan pakai mixer.Exercise sikit tangan tu.I think this recipe memang buat congo bars tu cakey.For me the taste tu dah cukup tapi korang kena try and error ikut korang punya rasa.
Okay cut the chase and here the recipe...
Ingredients:
❤200 gram salted butter (better use salted butter tapi nak guna unsalted pun okay)
❤250 gram brown sugar( kena pakai brown sugar tau baru jadi)
❤300 gram self-raising flour
❤3 large eggs
❤200 gram chocolate chip( mar tak pakai choclate chip,i use beryl's chocolate coin but my aunt said guna chocolate chip lagi sedap.Any brand boleh but nak sedap guna callebout)
❤20 gram chocolate chip untuk tabur on the top(tak payah accurate pun ikut korang suka and nak tambah almond pun boleh.
❤A dash of vanilla essence(atau susah sangat 1/2 tablespoon)
Steps:
1)Preheat your oven at 160 degree to 170 degree celcius.Maksudnya 165 0r maybe 167 depends on your oven.
2)Masukkan butter,pinch of salt(if you use unsalted butter) and brown sugar.Whisk it until creamy and combine.
3)Masukkan telur and beat till it fluffy and combine.Don't forget the vanilla essence.
4)Add the flour tapi kat sini jangan guna whisk korang kena guna spatula.Apa gunanya?So that korang tak cooperate air banyak sangat.Then add the chocolate chip and kacau sampai sebati.
5)Masukkan dalam loyang yang dah di gris and lining with baking paper.Pakai pan 11x11 inch or 10x10 inch.Square pan tau.Ratakan bagi even.Boleh lah letak chocolate chip lagi or almond.'Bang' dekat counter beberapa kali supaya air bubble keluar.
6)Bake for 30 minutes.Ting! done! Let it cool first baru potong.
Tips:Kalau korang taknak the chocolate chip tengelam kat bahagian bawah.Korang ambil sikit tepung yang korang guna untuk recipe ni gaul kan dekat chocolate chip.Nanti chocolate chip korang takde lah tengelam die akan berselerak dengan cantiknya.Huish ayat!
